The primary goal of The Hollywood Peel is to smooth the texture, color, and irregularities of a person’s skin on their face and neck. Unlike traditional chemical peels, which use chemicals to smooth the skin’s surface and can take days to show results, the Lutronic Spectra Laser Peel uses laser energy to improve skin pigmentation and reduce the appearance of fine lines. How The Hollywood Peel Works & What to Expect
Even though the word “laser” can sound a bit scary, trust us, it’s a remarkably gentle procedure! It is completely pain-free, and many patients tell us that it feels refreshing.
First, A Charcoal Mask is Applied to Your Face
To optimize the laser’s effects on the skin, a proprietary charcoal mask will is applied to the face. This blend helps the Hollywood Peel work it’s magic and facilitates the removal of the thin top layer of skin (which can include dead skin and unnecessary oils.)
Second, Laser Energy is Applied to the Skin
The doctor will begin using the later on your skin with a pen-sized applicator. The laser will make pulsing and snapping sounds as it is passed over the surface. You may feel a warming and tingling sensation as the device begins to work! The doctor may make several passes over certain areas of skin depending on where your problem areas are located.
The laser works in two ways. First, it breaks up the melanin in your skin and begins the process of clearing up pigmentation issues. Secondly, it heats the collagen that lies deep under the skin’s surface. This reinvigorates your natural collagen, which helps promote firmness and restores elasticity.
